Norstar phone issue - hold beeping on wrong extension

When a call is put on hold somewhere in our office our phone in the back area will beep. So for example I get a call at the front on extension 30 and put it on hold, extension 21 (phone in the back area) will beep. Is there a way to turn this off?

change you hold recall time ,or turn it off

by default ext 21 is the main set
if people put calls on hold ,it will beep to indicate call on hold if they forget about it it goes to main set after a time

under system programming
then under feature settings
then held reminder to n to turn off
or held reminder delay time

you will have to find the manual for the passwords
(can't give them here)

pressing feature **266344 will get you into programming(with the password)

I have the manuals.. they just read like.. argh lol. I think the guy I'm looking this up for will at least know how to do that.

how can i get inside the programming if someone is change the default password?

either find the person that changed it,
have nortel debug and find it for you

or hook up a rad and use the nortel utilities to browse the system and change it yourself
