Is it possible to access a NAM 4.1 through the internet for off-site programming using NRU 11/NVMM 4?

I have no issues with access while on-site using NRU 11/NVMM 4 through the local network, but cannot seem to access the unit from off-site.

I have programmed the local IP of the NAM into the DMZ zone of the router, and when I use the public IP of the router for my ip address in NVM 4 it will not connect.

Has anyone had any luck programming a NAM 4.1 remotely using the public IP to access the router?

If this is possible, what are the ports which need to be forwarded (through the router) to the NAM's local IP address so that I can remove the ip from the DMZ zone and access the unit remotely?

another way i just thought of and i use it on a couple of sites
if you have access to a on site pc you could use a vnc , or pcanyware software, is quicker than the dialup and is more secure/ reliable

No dialup, it is a NAM ver 3g with a NIC only
(I also looked at the ports themselves to verify), although it has a vitual modem I think.
I am surprised that even though I forwarded port 135 to the correct IP, I am still unable to access the unit with NVM Manager remotely.
There must be a way other than to use a PCAnywhere idea and access the system directly...
The only other way I have been able to do it is through the RAD and the remote set tool on NRU11, but it is very slow to program...

if you have the virtual modem you can call the voicemail and dial the virtual modem dn to connect with the windows dialup

look in the manual for the username and passswords for the virtual modem

I have tried using the virtual modem which works fine, but I am having a problem with the DN the NVM picked as it is already assigned to a VM box. It picked DN 783, but I need to find a way to change it as the person whos box it is will not be very happy that it answers with a modem tone...I have turned the modem off for now until I can find a way to change the DN...Even tried setting it up to answer a DID line, but the virtual modem continued to answer box "783" with a tone.

Not able to, can't see any settings for this.

I see the heading for modem DN, but I cannot find a way to change the DN...The DN the NAM picked is used by a mailbox.

ok i just did it in office

find the modem dn number (make sure modem is on) go in to phone system programming under change dn
change the dn number

go back into the f915 programming the modem dn will still be the same as before
turn off modem , turn back on , new dn number is there

worked on my 4.1
hope it works for you

Worked like a charm...Thank you. Do you know of anyway to use the NIC card on the NAM from off-site? I have only been sucessful when on-site, but would really like the speed when programming remotely. I have tried to forward port 135 in the router to the IP of the NAM, but no luck...

lol back to first answer...but glad you got it working.
Star for Fireeater on that one....I was closish!

If you have access to the Router then you might ba able to setup VPN from it or ask their IT dept.
Or setup Remote Desktop Protocal on one of the PC's on site.

Remember the NAM IP must be in same range as their PC's.
