Is it possible to integrate a amplifier for an overhead P.A. system with the MOD ICS 8x24?

Yes it is . I will have to look at my service history records later to tell you how I did it . If I remeber right there is a intercom pair off on of the pairs on one of the 25 prs comig out the main cabinets. If you find a tip helpful Please take a moment to mark it as such.

Thanks Mario,

It would be gratly appreciated. I found documentation on the Valcom paging accessory...but, I've been provided with an Amplifier only...I'm not sure if it will do the trick by itself?
I'll be looking out for your notes.

Paging controls are on pairs 20, 21 and 22 (the one with station 201, 202, etc). Normally the amplifiers have an RCA type connector, and you can either bean a piece of jumper, or go to Radio Shack and purchase on with the screw on terminals. If your lucky, some amps. have screw on terminals on the unit itself. Make the cross connect to the amp., and run from the amp., to the speakers. Check your programming, make some test, adjust speaker volume, label and tag EVERYTHING, and you're done. Polarity on these speakers is important, one reversal can kill the volume on the whole system.

Thanks,

I'll try that. This was very helpful and compared to the Valcom documentation I found. I'll apply the theory to my Amp.

Clarification for you is that the Yellow/slate wire is the make contact. the slate wire is common. and the violet/blue wire is break for page controls. the audio output of the 8X24 is on the violet/orange pair. if you are not switching the overhead from background music to page and back you may not need to use the control wires just the PA output. Thanks Jerry,

This will prove to be helpful.

I am abandoning the Amp that I was trying to "make work" with the system. Can you recommend a paging system that's easily installed, easily operated and is compatible with the Norstar MICS system?

I would appreciate it!
