I have an old computer with Windows 98 that seemed to work o.k. with the Norstar Manager, now I am running Windows 2000 Professional and I am having problems getting into my customers systems for back-ups and retreiving data, is there an upgrade for the software I have and where can I find it.. Or am I just out of luck with this issue..

Thanks

What I do know is this:

When installing NRU on Windows 2000:
Wondows 2000 instllation groups all shortcuts into one folder on Start Menu instead of into various subfolders, and does not create a shortcut for NVM Manager for use with NVM 3.0 (creates a shortcut for NVM Manager/ NVM 4.0 only).

This is the extent of what I know about it.

Is there a different way that I could install the software?

Thanks

What do you mean you are having problems? finding files? won't connect?
What version NRU do you have? or do you only have Norstar Manager? which is included with todays NRU (with remote tools etc)

Latest greatest is NRU 9.1 and 10.0 is under testing.

Norstar Remote utilities 8.1 is waht I have. Is there anywhere I can download an update for NRU 9.1, or will I need to buy the newest version for newer windows, I can not even connect with my Intel modem on 2000, I have looked in the manual for the correct string but it is not listed.

One thing that is kind of sweet with Win 2000 Pro. You can set your pc up to be DUAL BOOTABLE with 2 operating systems on it. Works real well for interfacing with some of the older stuff. My default is Win 2000, but if I see a problem, I just re-boot to Win 98 for some things. Did the same thing to both of my desk units and my laptop. Have not had any problems, except it eats up more disk space.

Search this forum. Someone has a link where you might find NRU 9.1. Are you dialing into these systems? If so, you've gotta get that modem working first.

Well I did Find NRU 9.1, Does Nortel have a place on there web site of an updated modem string list.
