I have a used Norstar Polycom conference phone that is suppose to work as a direct connect.
We have a 0x32 Mics. Can someone please tell me how to configure? I have dial tone but get a fast busy anytime i try to make outbound call.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I'm assuming that your Polycom conference phone is an analogue model?. Is it connected via an ATA (Analogue Terminal Adapter)?.

Are you able to call internal extension phones OK?. If so, then have you programmed the extension port for outgoing line pool access and check that the set isn't also barred.

Try dialing 9 before you dial the number.

Look under Sets/LineAccess for what Firebird describes.

If unsure how to program you need to call in a tech.
You can also read the Installer guide which has the info you need.

It is a Norstar Polycom and suppose to run off Norstar port. I do not have an ATA.
I get dial tone but when i press 9for outbound call i get the fast busy. I've been using a 7310 at the same extension.

What is the item code on the "Norstar" Polycom please?. Have you confirmed in programming that "9" is assigned to the extension?.

Also when logging in via the Telset terminal, are you able to look into the Mntce section and access the extension / port status area to see that type the system sees in plugged in.

What you have is called a Norstar Conference Unit and is made by Polycom for Nortel....no need for Firebirds above request.

Refer back to my original reply now except for the dial 9 bit.
You wont get training here if you do not know how to program.

Yes, it is a Norstar Conferencing unit. 2501-03308-001. Extension is programmed to dial 9. I have2 i/c 's assigned, hf answerback at no, prime line is intecom.
Have dial tone but busy signal as soon as i hit 9. Can do some programming just unsure what am not doing.

If you get same result from a standard phone bi Intercom then 9 and a busy then the lines may not be in a Pool and are instead set to Public.
Go into Lines/Data and put all ONLY working lines into Pool A.

I will try that but when i plug a 7316 into the port i have no problem making outbound call after hitting 9.

Plug T7316 in then go into programming, check System/FeatureSettings to see if Set Relocation is ON, if it is turn it OFF.
Now plug NCU back in and see if same issue.

I don't think I've ever seen a
"Norstar Conferencing unit. 2501-03308-001" over this side of the pond. Was the phone also compatible on BCM systems?

**Norstar Audio Conferencing Unit I should have said.

Yes it is compatible on BCM.

There was one made for the Option/M1 as well.....did you get that over there?

Yes Curly, I did fit one on a Option 11 system via a digital port many moons ago. I never knew that they also did one for the Norstar / BCM range.

They have 2 models that are direct connect on the Norstar & BCM line.

The Nortel part #s are NTAB2666 for the older one and NTAB4213 for the newer looking one.

NTAB2666 looks like an older soundstation non display and the NTAB4213 like a soundstation2 non display.

NTAB2666 = 2501-03308-001

NTAB4213 = 2301-15100-001

Prime line is pool also for that extension?.or itcm and use 9

I have to assume that line pool access has not been allowed for the Polycom DN even though a Norstar digital phone is able to dial 9 and access an outside line. As curly wrote it has to be that set relocation is turned on. You can verify by dialing 0 from both the Polycom and a digital phone and ask the attendant what the station ID is on their display.

Good day.

I have confirmed that set relocation is off.
I can dial extensions with no problem but if i press 9, i am just getting the fast busy. In maintenance, shows as a m7100.

Then you need to allow access to Pool A if you have copper pots lines or PRI-A if you have PRI.

Old software - Configuration/LineAccess/LinePoolAccess
New software - Sets/LineAccess/LinePoolAccess
