Noise with IP500 and sip trunking

Hello,

We got a IP500 with software level 5.0(8) with a sip-trunk.

On the IP500 we connected 10 x IP1608 phones, 2 x IP1616 and IP Dect R4.

The switch is the HP 5604xl.
We got 2 vlan's. A data vlan and a voice vlan. We set the qos on for voice.

The IP500 and the dect is on a untagged port and the phones on a tagged port.

The codec we use is G711 a-law.

Now if we call outside with the sip-trunk, we got a noise on the phone.
We tried difference things, like direct media path off, other codecs, other switch with default settings, 100mb full duplex for the IP500 and the phones, etc
But nothings works. We got still the noise.

Have anyone a suggestion what this is?
 
What provider do you use?

The codec is it set on G711 for IP phones and Sip trunks?

On the IP phones set the codec on Auto and DirectMP ticked, and on System/telephony tab select G711.

We have speakup.nl as provider.
Directly connected on LAN2.

The IP phones on LAN1.

I tried now for the IP phones on Auto and DirectMP ticked, the sip trunk on G711 and system/telephony on G711.

No results.

The QoS label we use is 101110 priority 6.
 
Only dutch people in this topic :)
We are taking over

Is it possible that the noise is on the providers network ?
Can you try a sip softphone on the router that is provided by the sip provider ?

Maybe is that possible? They say of course not.

I can not try a sip softphone on the moment.

Is it maybe possible that the ADSL-line a UBR+ is?
 
Of course they say not :)
Do you have digital or analog ports and do you then have the same problem ?

Try a ping to the provider, see if you have high timeouts.

Hello,

So it's a long time ago... But we know the answer!!!

On system tab - VCM - Nonlinear Processor Mode on disable.

And the noise is gone!

Thanks for the help!!!
 
Never had to change settings there but it solved it for you :)
