Hi,

I have a unique problem.

I have a site with MEDPRO & Clan cards.
Then I have another site where i have just hung IP PHones.
The 2 sites are connected via leased lines.
The IP phones are all registered at the central site. ( The second site does NOT have any media gateways )

When I originate a call from the primary site to the secondary site, I am able to speak to the users there. ( MEDPRO resource is being used here )

When i try to have a call between 2 extensions at the second site, there is no Voice betn them. Signalling goes thru; first phone picks up, is given a tone by the medpro, he dials the extension number, it rings on the extension, as the person picks up, there is no communication. ( There is no MEDPRO resource assigned here ).

I am convinced it has nothing to do with the Avaya config. Though I am aware I can have a MEDPRO assigned even for ipphone to ipphone commn, i dont want to do it.

Have you faced a similar problem.

Any resolutions ??

Thanks.

There is no discrepancy in the trace. It shows the entire string properly. There are no denials.

If you are using CISCO routers on the WAN, check the "H323 fixup" otion, make sure it is OFF. Most likey, you have ports being block or not forwarded.

Is it possable that any ACL's/Vlans are stopping the voice from working on the data side of things. A quick way to check would be to disable direct media path between the ip phones

Thanks for your interest folks.

Mitch,
I will get the cisco guys to check this option. But, will the router come into play here. The phones are on the same Vlan. Are you pointing this towards "Shuffling" and meaning to say that when the MEDPRO hands over the voice communication over to the 2 phones it gets blocked on the router ? Becaue as long as MEDPRO is involved the voice is going thru.

Ridge,
There are no ACL's defined currently. we have removed them for the sake of fault identification.

Hi Dimpoo,

A couple of questions. What Network Region are the phones at the remote site (Site B) a part of? What is the codec set(s) for the region(s)? If you hairpin the call (use a medpro resource) for the Site B to Site B calls do you get a talk path? It would really help if you post the CM trace of the station to station call. Thanks.

check the network region for the remote site, page 3
what do you have set for Site B - Site A?

Thanks for your intererst.
We managed to kill the problem finally after we could rewrite some rules on the firewall configurations.
