I am having a problem getting DCH monitoring to generates records. I have turned on MSGO and MSGI for all DCH I need to monitor. It shows that they are all enabled in in DCH MON. At the top of the DCH MON I get this:

TRACE OUTPUT
DCH LOG OFF
DCH TTY OFF

Then it shows all the active traces which all show enabled. I don't remember seeing the fields above. Does the DCH LOG and the DCH TTY need to be turned on? If so, how is that done?

Other then that what else could be causing the problem of no trace records.

Thank you,

Scott

you do have to turn that on, but I can't remember if it is in 96 15 17, or 37 lol.

I would try a STAT MON x to see what monitoring is turned on.
Here's what I get when I have set ENL MSGO 86
>STAT MON 86
DCH MON ON
DCH 086 :
MSGI ( LEVEL 0 ) : DSBL
MSGO ( LEVEL 0 )
MSG = PRIM ALER PROC PROG STP CON
CONA DISC RST RLS RSTA RLSC
STEN STAT NOTF FAC UI FACR
FACA STPA INFO
FEAT = ALL
CH = ALL

With rls 5.0 you have to tell the system where you want the dch messages to go.

.enl mon tty
or
.enl mon log
or
.enl mon all (sends messages to both)

Most of us would want send the messages to tty but the log file might be useful if you were working remotely and didn't want to flood the port.
