Hi , I have connected a CS1000M(61c) rls 5 with cs1000M(81c) rls 5.5 using SIP trunk. MC32s and Signallin Severs have updated patches with both PBX also updated with patches. Calls between sites is OK but i am having issue when digigtal ext calls digital extension or analog ext calls to

Good calls
IP ext to IP ext.
IP ext to Analog ext.
IP ext to digital ext
analog ext to analog ext.
analog ext to digital ext
digital ext to analog ext

The only call setup which isn not working when a digital extensions call another digital extension across both site.
I checked by changing DLC cards/by changing loop of DLC cards but still no solution, everything OK accept DLC to DLC extension even ring goes to set but after lifting h/set it is dead, both cant listen each other.
I also reset SS/Ini PBX but no solution
Any help

Well ... I would check the trunking to ensure your digital to digital are using the same routes as your working calls. You can also check codec and routing protocols between sites for a mismatch that could be causing such failure. Must be something with speechpath since you say DLC to DLC will ring, but the line is dead when you go offhook. The only other thing I can think of is a possible compatibility issue between 61c/81c and the rls 5 versus rls 5.5 ....

make sure you are using the same codec value on each side of the sip trunk call. If your call goes out one side of the link G.711 (Zone bandwidth treatment) it should enter the other pbx with no compression(G.711). Look at your interzone bandwidth treatments for all ip components between the phones. It is ok to use compression but there has to be a match on both sides of the call or you end up with speech path issues.

you can also try making your sip route VOD.

another thing to check is firewall issues between the sites. find out which tcp and udp ports are being used and verify with the data group that none are being blocked.

Can each VGMC or SMC card ping the T-LAN of the VGMC or SMC card of the other site?

Same issue only digital to digital, 4 four sites two 4.5 RLS, one 5RLS and one 5.5.Issue is only between 5 and 5.5 rls sites. Everything is pepped. and all sites talk properly so there is no network issue. We have verified correct codec is and settings match. The strange thing is a call to either site that is a invalid extension works ..rings to swtichboard (2250)....

Problem solved. Danzig you shud login into Element manager using admin2 then select Poloicies then Media than uncheck Media Security and then save. DO some for other sites.

I dont think it is a correct way to turn off MSEC. Did you try to install the patch MPLR27230 to see if it works? As I see, it is available for rls 5.00, may require reworking for rls 5.5

It was ON on both sites,I dont know about this patch, but the patches are upto date. Need some help to understand why is MSEC for??? i mean in which scenerio we use MSEC??
Is it a special patch for this problem?? or general patch?

Danzing urs problem solve or not????
Regards

As I see, 27230 is a VO patch, only available for public view. I think you should raise a case to get it. I'm not sure if it is specific for this scenario, but I remember a similar issue has been resolved with this patch.
