just ugraded an opyion 11C rls.24 to CS100E Rls 5.0. I added an expansion cabinet to the new system.I have one problem. When i call an extension on the main cabinet and vise versa there is no speach path. I can't hear the caller and the caller can't me.
Any ideas.

Sounds like either a network connectivity problem, or a DSP problem.

can you ping each cabinet from the other?

are your dsp's configured and registered?

are you sure the fiber is sseated clean? i had an 11 that did that, turned the lights off in the switch room and could see the "hot" spot in the fiber.. replaced that and we could talk.. mine was as older rls and the problem was only there part of the time... it seemed to work when i was in the building...

Check that you configured the DSP's on the MGC, you can check the status of you dsp by stating e.g., So lets say your Media Gatway is 4 0, stat 4 0 0 0 or 4 0 0 10, to check the status of your DSP's. Check that you have a DSP daughter board on your MGC. You can have 128 per MGC, 32 and 96. With a patch you can have 96 + 96 = 192

hope this help,

Killian

KillanK are you sure you can have 2x 96 DSP DB on the one MGC?

Remember if it doesn't work hit it harder

Check that you have at least one IP ISM per my post from a different thread:

VERY IMPORTANT for anyone performing this type of upgrade. You must have at least one IP ISM (User or trunk) built in the keycode in order to have this upgrade be successful. Without it, the sig server and DSPs cannot fully register to the Call Server and there will be no inter-cabinet VOIP communication. This traffic rides the TLAN which cannot be brought up without DSPs. Nortel knows about this "requirement" but of course it is not mentioned in ANY documentation. VERY INFURIATING!!!!

Also, the double 96 port DSP situation is only meant for the PRI Gateway. The standard IPMG is only supposed to have a max of 1x 32db and 1x 96db. Killiank, do you have 2x 96db config working in a non-PRI gateway MGC?

hope this helps
