No ring back tone heard on SIP trunks

I have a BCM50 3.0 system connected to a CS1000 5.5 via SIP trunks for outgoing calls over an E1 PRI. When a user places a call from the BCM to an external analog trunk number no ring back tone is heard but the phone on the far-end rings. When a call is made to an external digital trunk number ring back is heard and the same for calls to the mobile network.

Does anyone have any possible solutions or guidance in a direction which we could investigate?

humm, what kind of phone you calling from? I know with SIP, the "ringback" is generated locally by the calling set. Have you done a SIP trace on the call to see if you see anything funky?

Kick on a SIP trace:


oam> SIPOutput 1
oam> SIPTraceLevel 1

then do a test call . . .

The phones are digital T-series phones configured on the BCM50. I did a SIP trace as you suggested and notice a difference between the calls mainly the trying and session progress messages. What I have found out also is that the calls from the main site have no issues i.e. ring back is heard on all calls made where the E1 is directly connected.
