How can I program an option 11 system to display the persons name internally but but not externally.
When dialling externally, only the customer's main phone number and the name of the company should be displayed not the customer's name. The users have DID lines.

So, you're saying that when a call is placed from a set on the switch to an external number the person's name shows?? Is this the same name as that which is programmed on the CPND on the set? In my experience, there are primarily two ways of showing caller ID info. Either the main billing number and the name of the company are shown or the DID and the name of the company are shown. I've never seen where the CPND name shows on an external call. It might be possible but I've never seen it in my ten years of working on Nortel equipment. If all you're wanting is to program a name on a DN, you can do that in LD 95 as follows:

REQ NEW
TYPE NAME
CUST (I assume it's 0 for you here)
Prompt down to DN and enter the DN of the set and press enter
NAME Enter name here

I hope this is what you're looking for. Let me know if I'm wrong about there not being a way to show the name that's programmed in the switch on an external caller ID.

Calls that are placed from DID numbers are showing the persons name externally. There must be a way to disable this and still show the person's name when calling internally. I just don't know how.

You can send name as long as your Teloc provider will accept it if you are setup to dial out over a ISDN PRI with NI2 interface and NDS is in PCAP.

You can remove NDS but will not get incoming name

I would think though if CLID DIDN=no and HLCL is your main number you would not sent individual name. Check CLID on phone.

This is the CLID for the phone:

ENTRY 1
HNTN 905
ESA_HLCL 5551111
ESA_INHN NO
ESA_APDN NO
HLCL 5551111
DIDN NO
HLOC
LSC
CLASS_FMT DN

How can a call be made from a DID without showing the name programmed on the phone? The name should only show when calling internally.

When you make an outgoing call across your DID's - does the other end see your Number - 905-555-1111 and users name?

I can see his name that is programmed in LD 95 and the CLID # 9055551111. Only the numbe should be displayed not the name. How is this done?

call your cell phone and see what you see on the display

Name and Number?

If name - is it the same name as in LD 95?

Just Number?

Name and number show on the cellphone. The same name as LD 95.
