Hi there
i have an IP500 V2 (8.0.46) it's my lab kit and since i installed the UC Card i lost the Embedded voicemail on my voicemail type all i have now is : Voicemail Lite/Pro, Centrelized and Distributed Voicemail!
i removed the UC Card from the IP Office and tried recreating the SD Card and didn't bring back my Embedded!
do anyone have an idea about this issue ?
Thanks

When you have the UCM card then why do you want to use embedded anyway?
When you remove the card then you need to remove it from the config too.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

you re right i just removed from the config and the embedded popped back
thanks

by the way what do you think guys about the UCM card ? is it reliable ? worth the shot ? easy to manage like a voicemail pro (preferred edition)
Thanks

I have installed 4 uc modules with no issues. They are a bit of a pain to upgrade and i have yet to get one with the current firmware. Other then that I like them.

I like them.
Upgrading is not that hard when you have done it a couple of times.
Easy to manage? yes, you login on to the card with the VMPro client.
You enter the username and password (both Administrator by default) and the IP address and then it downloads it to your VMPro client.
When you do a save and make live then it is send back to the card.

what about playing with the wav files (upload/download) ? Queuing/Announcement ?
we have 0 knowledge about linux or whatever OS running the UCM
Thanks

It takes less then a hour to get it up and running, then you have vm pro and one-x portal out of the box.
I like it a lot, from the three installed last two weeks I had one DOA. I hope it is not typical for it.

Uploading custom wav files is a bit of a job but not too hard.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

Intrigrant, what was wrong with it?

I don't like the fact that you can't run embedded with a UMC installed, means that trying to use one for an on site upgrade takes a fair bit longer (basically the install/initialization/upgradeo of the UMC becomes part of the upgrade to VM pro etc., could easily add 1-1.5 hours to the upgrade time). Not a show stopper, but it does require a longer upgrade window.

What I find really annoying is that changing the IP address of the IPO seems to render the UMC non-functional. Everytime I've done it, I've had to reload the software on the UMC and reinitalize it. maybe I'm doing some thing wrong, but even resetting the IP address back to original won't restore the UMC to working order.

I need to figure a way around this, because sooner or later one of our IP Office/UMC customers is going to want to redo their network and change an IP address or two...

Greybeard, i think you mean UCM???
The UCM has an IP address and you need to change that too like on any other server system.
You need to do this first and than you change the IPO IP address.
I have installed, upgraded and reinstalled the UCM about 50 times now and the only time i have had this issue was when i did nto change the IP address of the card first.
Upgrading can take a while but not 1.5 hour.
What i do is upgrade the system files first and then i upgrade the VMPro and the language i need first.
Only then i upgrade all the other languages.
What i have done even is to remove all the languages that i do not need.
This saves a lot of time.

How do you get the files on the card? perhaps there you can save some time too.
I never used the webcontrol page for this but always use SSH for this.
