I moved a phone from one jack to another, then the ports as well, reference: thread689-680889

Now the phone acts like an operators extension, and calls can only go to the extension not vm.

need to get it back to regular extension state.

On a Legend, the 1st & 5th port on each MLX (or ATL) card can be Operators.

If this is not the VERY FIRST MLX port in the system, you can turn off the OPERATOR function by using the PROGRAMMING CONSOLE, (Usually the MAIN ATTENDANT Console).

First, determine the Extension Number involved.

Understand, changing an OPERATOR POSITION (or in this case, deleting one) requires the system to be IDLE.

When you start doing what's shown below, the SYSTEM WILL TELL YOU IF SOMEONE IS ON THE PHONE, AND, once everyone is off the IT WILL FORCE THE SYSTEM TO BE IDLE< NO CALLS IN OR OUT (Ringing Calls will keep the FORCED IDLE from Happening as well...)

So, when it's a nice quiet time, like a the end of the day, DO THIS:

Go to System Program> Exit> Operator> Positions> Direct Line (Assuming it is a DIRECT LINE CONSOLE) Enter the EXTENSION NUMBER and then press DELETE.

Don't Stop There -

One more step to make this work is you must now press:

STORE ALL

At this point the system will RESTART.

How do I determine if it is /is not a direct line console?

If it has LINES - It is a DLC.

To determine if it has LINES, touch INSPECT and touch the Button above and to the left of the "\/Volume/\" Button.
(Usually labeled Intercom or System Access, SA)

If the DISPLAY shows SysAcc, then it is a DLC, if it shows CALL, then it is a QCC. I doubt that it is a QCC.

Press HOME to get out of INSPECT Mode.

I took the following steps: System Program> Exit> Operator> Positions> Direct Line >Entered the EXTENSION NUMBER and pressed DELETE >>Then STORE ALL

The phone still shows an in bound call when dailing from an outside line. It does show up on the SA button. (we use SA Ring-primary, SA voice-2ndary & HFAI, and SA buttons for our three line appearances)

First, make sure it is no longer an Operator.

Just go on to System Program and see if it still shows up there as an Operator.

If it does not, then go in to Extensions > Lines & Trunks, and remove the lines.

If they are in a Pool, just touch one of them and they should all go out.

I believe that I having a related issue. I factory defaulted the Magix R3. I have 3 line/extension modules installed (4 lines and 12 extensions each). The factory defaults set Extensions 10, 14, 22, and 28 as operator stations. I have only one console phone, and all the other phones are identical. Why would the system configure these extensions as operators and how do I remove all but extension 10 as an operator.

System Program> Exit> Operator> Positions> Direct Line >Entered the EXTENSION NUMBER and pressed DELETE >>Then STORE ALL

Does work to remove them from Operators. The line appearances are troubling me.

Ted,

Look at my original post to see how to remove them.

The system, by DEFAULT, assigns the 1st & 4th Port of MLX, ATL, and TDL modules as OPERATORS.
