On a Legend, the 1st & 5th port on each MLX (or ATL) card can be Operators.
If this is not the VERY FIRST MLX port in the system, you can turn off the OPERATOR function by using the PROGRAMMING CONSOLE, (Usually the MAIN ATTENDANT Console).
First, determine the Extension Number involved.
Understand, changing an OPERATOR POSITION (or in this case, deleting one) requires the system to be IDLE.
When you start doing what's shown below, the SYSTEM WILL TELL YOU IF SOMEONE IS ON THE PHONE, AND, once everyone is off the IT WILL FORCE THE SYSTEM TO BE IDLE< NO CALLS IN OR OUT (Ringing Calls will keep the FORCED IDLE from Happening as well...)
So, when it's a nice quiet time, like a the end of the day, DO THIS:
Go to System Program> Exit> Operator> Positions> Direct Line (Assuming it is a DIRECT LINE CONSOLE) Enter the EXTENSION NUMBER and then press DELETE.
Don't Stop There -
One more step to make this work is you must now press:
To determine if it has LINES, touch INSPECT and touch the Button above and to the left of the "\/Volume/\" Button.
(Usually labeled Intercom or System Access, SA)
If the DISPLAY shows SysAcc, then it is a DLC, if it shows CALL, then it is a QCC. I doubt that it is a QCC.
I took the following steps: System Program> Exit> Operator> Positions> Direct Line >Entered the EXTENSION NUMBER and pressed DELETE >>Then STORE ALL
The phone still shows an in bound call when dailing from an outside line. It does show up on the SA button. (we use SA Ring-primary, SA voice-2ndary & HFAI, and SA buttons for our three line appearances)
I believe that I having a related issue. I factory defaulted the Magix R3. I have 3 line/extension modules installed (4 lines and 12 extensions each). The factory defaults set Extensions 10, 14, 22, and 28 as operator stations. I have only one console phone, and all the other phones are identical. Why would the system configure these extensions as operators and how do I remove all but extension 10 as an operator.
