New "Console"?

We have a new cs1000E 6.0.

I have slowly but steadily been replacing 2616's with 3904s. The users I support like them tons better.

Anyway, our operators are asking about new consoles. We currently have 2x 2250's.

I've been researching the m3905's but they dont seem to be a replacement for a console, rather call center based.

What replaces 2250's (which are 50 bazillion years old and take up 1/2 a desk) for Nortels merdian lineup? Do they at least come in black? I replaced a few ash 2616 with black ones and its amazing how much users think they are far less dated just with the different color. (sorta like looking at a black vs beige computer tower, people automatically think the latter is older)

Have you tried IP Phone 1230 with 10 keys. Add KEM for extra keys and map your important keys on them. I have used M3904 with KEM as well. Personally, I dont like 2250 much.

PC software based to CIU (ConsoleInterfaceUnit)would also be an option, along with the new IP console, now available I believe, depending on availability/location/support

First of all take a look to all the features that the M2250 offers and see how many of them you are using right now.

This analysis will tell you if you need a console or a telephone can fulfill your requirements.

In my experience most of the times the operators are only transfering calls wich can be easily achieved with a phone.

In the UK, the Nortel CIU is used with software from Datapulse or Smile. Smile now do the IP console. both are good products, but it depends on your type of business whether you really need them.

We just setup a "nortel pc attendant console" but so far it seems to suck balls. It was a bucket of money and no one likes it

The screenshots of that smile product actually look like modern software. This is good as a possible product for us but makes me more frustrated by being lubed up by sales people that sold us the pc attendant console.
