Hello friends:

First of all, I would like to thank ALL of you for your wonderful expertise in answering all of my questions.

I do have a couple of questions that I'm not sure about:

1. When I am in FLASH creating mailboxes, on my other system at another location, I have the option of creating a user mailbox or a lvmsg mailbox. I only seem to be able to create a user mailbox. I would like to have the AA go to some mailboxes for informational greetings, but I'm not sure how to get a lvmsg mailbox. To clarify, I'm not talking about the lvmsg function in the CCR tree, but actually the creation of the mailbox. Any ideas?

2. The system is sometimes very slow in disconnecting lines after a phone call. For example, I called into the system, and after I hung up, the line remained in use for about 30-45 seconds before the in-use light finally went out.

3. Is there ANY way that I can have busy calls forward to voice mail on an extension that has lines set to appear and ring?

Thanks again everyone; you're AWESOME!!

Gratefully,
Michael.

For your first question, do you know what software version of Flash? Older ones did not support message mailboxes.

For your second question, sounds like your DISCONNECT SUPERVISION is not turned on, or is not working.

For your third question, I'm not sure what you are meaning by "busy calls". Depends on if you are talking about DID or Loop Start lines. I think you are talking about Loop Start since you said a 4x32. When they are busy, they are busy and you would need more lines for them to roll in on to get to the system.

As always, thanks for your help! Can you help me with checking the version of the Flash? I'm not sure how to do that.

Also, is there somewhere in programming I can check the settings for disconnect supervision and see if there is something awry?

Thanks much!
Michael.

Do your normal F983 and log in, then hit the 9. It will display your Flash version.

For the Supervision setting, go into KSU programming,
LINES, Trunk/line data, Show line 001, TRUNK MODE, CHNG.
Change all 4 lines to SUPER.
That should fix ya up. Nothing "awry" to worry about. Unsupervised is the default after startup.
Make that change when the lines are not in use as calls will drop when it updates.

I had a similar issue. I was told by my norstar tech who installed it that there is no disconnect feature that releases the line after the call is over. He said i need to call the telco. They have hangup/ disconnect option that they have to program into the channel bank that automatically releases the line back into the hunt group when the call is over.

mwesche,

Which system do you have?

You program each line in MICS and CICS for disconnect supervision, but Telco must also have lines programed for disconnect supervision.

The older systems had to be ordered with Disconnect Supervision in the software.

Use MarvO1 directions on how to activate supervision on your Norstar system.

Good Luck!!
