We have a newer local area code (234) used for cell phones that will only works if you place a 1 in front of the number, other wise you receive a pause then a fast busy after the number is dialed. (Our normal local area code is 330)

I worked with AT&T to track the calls going through our PRI's, they only see the calls where I used the 1 and not the failed calls without.

From reading posts to this forum I was able to gather this much information already on our switch (61C). Being an actual NEC tech I know nothing is this simple and I must be missing something here. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

Thank You!

you can put a DMI on the RLI for that NXX deletes nothing inserts a 1. Why are you posting NPA, do you have to 10 digit dial? Check the RLI of the NXX if it is a local exchange.

No we do not have to 10 digit dial for local calls. I posted our NPA because I'm a NEC tech new to Nortel and I looked at similar posts and saw they always mentioned checking your NPA for area codes and Nxx for prefixes.

When I look at both NPA and Nxx for our local area code/prefix that works compared to our newer local area code/prefix that doesn’t they look the same. Therefore, being new to Nortel I I’m not sure where else to begin my search.

Here is what I know so far:

Thanks again!

TYPE Nxx

NXX 330 = Working local area code

NXX 265 = Not working local area code
ESN071

NXX 234 = Working local prefix for area code 330
ESN073

NXX 521 = Not working local prefix for area code 234

don't work because dont exsist (071) built as npa (073), looks like everything is programmed under the npa block

If this works:

NPA 1234
RLI 20

Then I'd do this:

NPA 234
RLI 20 <--- make this 20

BUT... you have the KNOW that RLI 20 is the least expensive way to route this call...otherwise, you are just going be placing cheap calls the expensive way.

Here is a "RLI" example and more:

Thanks GHTROUT that did the trick! Our 3 PRI's are setup as one big pool with LD and Local treated the same so this solution works just fine.

Thanks Again!
