We added 2x new cards to our system and they dont seem to work properly.

You can IDC the card and it shows XMI001 + XMI002 when you re-seat it but anytime you plug in a 3900 phone the light flashes and no screen or dial tone.

Any ideas? Ive checked the cables and swapped cards.

No clue??

Try plugging a known working card in where you are trying the new cards and see if that works.

Take the suspect cards and plug them in where known working cards were and see if that works.

Those two steps just isolated the problem.

Well, the analog card wont give dialtone and I kow both cards work.

I`m thinking its a superloop and DTR programming issue??? Do I have to add the card slots to the superloops or something?

Here is my LD 20 stat:

Also, how would I program the DTR for second shelf..what loop?

Analog line card is for analog phones. Digital line card is for digital phones like 3900 series. Have you programmed the 32 (16x2) TNs?

LD 20 STAT? 3900 phones into an analog card? 32 TNs?

My guess is these card slots are not programmed, or not programmed to match the card, or not programmed to match the phone type, or might not even be line cards at all.

This is where I would start... Put the cards back in the box, flash the lights, open the boxes and pretend you are starting from the beginning.

I have 2x seperate cards that I have installed. One is Analog and one is Digital. I programmed 2 sets on each card (2x 500 sets on Analog + 2x 3900 sets on digital card).

The slots that arent working are slots 19 + 20. These have never been used before.

I have tried swapping the digital card with another known good card and same issue.

The analog ports dont give dialtone but when you call the extension and have a toner on the TN it flashes (getting ring pulse).

I think the analog issue may be due to the DTR not programmed on the expansion shelf. I also am thinking the loop might not be mapped to slot 9 and 10 in the expansion shelf.

Any takers?

My first question, since this seems to be a slot issue and not a card issue, is the amphenol cable for slots 19 and 20 in place and secure? Are youi sure yoiu are on the correct place on your frame?

Thanks,

Buddy

If you have a digital and an analog card that don't work, the DTR is unrelated, since the digital card does not need it. I would not add more complexity to this. Here are some steps:

Do this:
Go to LD 32

.ENLS 0

.ENLS 1

.ENLS 2

If that does nothing, post this:

I also checked the cables and everything looks good!

You need to verify those 25 pair tails. Trace them hand over hand or put a toner on the frame and wand the amphenols.

Move those phones from port 0 to 15 and test. If they work , the top part of each cable on cabnet is not making a good connection.

I checked all the cables with a toner and wand. I tried moving the phone to 15,14,13...nothing. I can try and replace the cables or maybe the cabinet has a bad backplane??

I just dont want to do anything major without verify the software first. I just checked and this system has no patches...would that matter?

Wait a minute... how did you determine there are no patches. It is not LD 22 ISSP. This is the command:

>ld 143
CCBR000
.mdp issp

Besides, there has never been a patch for "Cards Do Not Work" LOL

gene - can you post that one patch to make phones work?

Mato' Was'aka

If you used 143 and there are no patches, put them in. You'll have to anyway when you call tech support.

Double check your cables.
