I'm not a networking guru and could use some advice on determining if the following is doable.
The underlying theme is to get a 5621 working for a remote user.
I have a fios router with a dynamic ip address from outside.
Ip Office 500 rls 6.1, the IPO lan 2 port has a sip trunk coming in and it works!
I have a netgear FVS338 VPN Firewall,
I'd lke to use IPO lan 1 port and install the netgear on that port to connect the remote worker to the system is this doable?

Any help would be appreciated.

What software version is your ipoffice?
You could use the Netgear 338 as vpnrouter for the 5621.
You only need to convert it to a vpnphone.
It depens on the software version if you need a vpnphone license or not.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

IPO 500v2 6.1
Would the dynamic address or router from fios be a problem?
I have tech bltn 184 any thoughts?

That dynamic ip can be a problem.
When it changes then you need to change it on the phone too.

Someone had mentioned that I would need to set the fios router as a bridged device?

I checked and there is no option for setting it as a bridged device.

I'll read thru the tchbltn and have a go at it I guess.

Thank you!
For your quick response and input.

Yes it should be bridged but portforwarding should work too.

Good luck with it.
The 5621 needs vpn firmware first which can be hard sometimes.

If there is no FIOS video (FIOS TV), happening at the site, you can just remove the FIOS router out and put in the Netgear in its place. Verizon told me their router is not bridge-able.

HTH,
Ed

Thank you for the input.
I'm using TV Video On Demand, It's looking more and more like this "Not Doable"

I'm going with a hosted solution Monday
To heck with it
