Im trying to network a BCM50 with BCM400. I'm using VoIP trunks with H.323 between the two. No matter what extension I dial, it goes to the prime set on the destination BCM. Here are my specs.

Private and received numbers set to 3 on both BCM's
Private network type is CDP
Private DN length is set to 3 on both BCM's
Virtual private network ID is set to 1 on both BCM's
VoIP lines are added to the same pool
My route is using the VoIP pool
I created a route in my VoIP trunks using the other BCM's IP
GW type is BCM
GW protocol is CSE
VoIP protocol is H.323

Any help would be much appreciated!

hawks, with the setup I described, you have to leave the absorbed digits at 0. With the UDP set, the system knows that the dest code is a location code.

Set it up for all, turn on your monitor and see what it does. When I first configured it, I set it that way too and it didn't work at all.

I set it up exactly as emillysdad suggested but I stil can't get it to work. I can dial my destination code, but after I enter the 3rd digit I get a fast busy. I must be missing somthing here.

Can you post a screen shot of the ip trunk configuration and the destination code/routing table?

The setup I provided does work. I might have missed something though.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question as I'm not all that familiar with the BCM400. Does the BCM400 not use a BLOC for VoIP lines like the BCM50? Right now my VoIP lines are in pool F, not Bloc:F.

I have the exact setup, and today i got it to work by setting a second target line up for each set. I have it ring only so it does not take up a button. I put the recieved digits under the public section(even though it is private voip trunks), and it works like a champ. I have beat my head for 4 months because I would dial the 3 or 4 digit extension and get the prime set of the called site. Just try my way to see. I have bcm400 4.0 and bcm50 2.0. Jumping for joy happy today. Major monkey off my back.

Private DN length is important, what's yours? I've never used UDP, always CDP. So with this config, I'm little help.

My private DN length is set to 3 on both BCM's.

do your sets have line pool access to the pool that the voip trunks are in?

Yes they all have access to the Voip trunks pool.

Under resources, telephony resources, select IP trunks, look at the routing table. Do you have the remote sights built? You need to enter the destination digits and the ip address of the remote sight.

Ok. with this config try this.

Delete dest code 7. Add dest code 71 to use route 002 Absorb ALL

Under route 002 set externall number to 71

Thanks, I'll give it a try! There might be a change of plans with the programming though. I might have to dial the extensions directly and now use destinations codes. Is it alot different to setup? I still want to get this to work, just for future reference. Thanks for everyones help through this.

Then I can help you with CDP, with direct 3 or 4-digit dialing.

Endlesswinter,

I tried what you said but it keeps going to the prime set after the 3rd digit I dial.

Actually after I enter the destination code, it goes straight to the prime set. I can't dial anything after that.

just try changing the Absorb to ALL, then tell us what happens.
