I have installed the new compiled x64 client w/mp4 then updated to mp5. Created policy and can see the x64 OS now but fails to connect to the server when scheduled or even during manual backup from master server. I can, however< start a manual backup from the client with no problems.

Searches on veritas/symantec have been cryptic at best. Other internet searches have been fruitless as well.

Anyone run into this before or cane someone point me in the right direction

Hi !!!

I have exact the same problem !

Backups initiatetd from backupserver doesn´t work, backups initiated from client work fine.

But i need to shedule the jobs from the backupserver.

Nobody else ???
No solutions ???
No helps ???

Any event log entries?
What are the NetBackup errors?
Have you run all of the bpclntcmd entries?

Just because the VERITAS documentation states something as certain, that does not make it a fact and that is truth.

Found the solution! make sure NIC drivers are up to date and DON'T install MP5. Apparently this breaks the client install

Hi !

The clientsoftware is already installed.
Read the opening post, you will see the backup doesn´t work.

Now i copy the services and hosts entries from system32 to the sysWOW64 directory, now i make a backup ...

and ...

after 2 tries with exactly the same backuped quantity of 3800000 KB the backup ended with status code 41.
