can someone tell me how to find the Product ID on an Avaya CMS system?

Product ID not suer what you mean?
Do you mean what version of CMS is installed? if so from a UNIX prompt type pkginfo -x cms

There is a product ID number to Avaya hardware, kind of like a serial number. The CMS system will be monitored in the Avaya AIM system but I need to enter a product ID number when adding it.

You need to call the Avaya CMS group, give them your sold-to and they will give you the product ID.

1. Log into CMS as root2 or cmssvc.

2. To verify that the required packages are installed, enter: pkginfo -x | grep LU

Verify that the following packages are installed:
• LUahl
• LUaot
• LUim
• LUorbutil

3. To obtain the cms version,
enter: pkginfo -x cms

4. To identify the communications port used by the system modem,
enter: tty

Enter the following commands:

cd /opt/cc/aot/data/admin
vi sysSetup.cfg

ProductID - this is the first field in the sysSetup.cfg file. It is a unique system identifier obtained from the database administration group

TelephoneNum - this is the fifth field in the sysSetup.cfg file. It is the telephone number of the Initialization and Administration (INADS) alarm receiver.

ModemPort - this is the eighth field in the sysSetup.cfg file. It is the modem port expressed in numeric form (ttya = 1 and ttyb = 2).

Thanks for the info, but the field show XXXXXXXX instead of the Product ID number.

It would be as this number is generated by Avaya on provisioning a new system. in other words it is not shipped witb the system rather it added when the system is comissioned. If this was not done by Avaya as a direct sale/install AOM would not be setup.
