Hi All, well, I need a recommendation if anyone has one for a good, reputable, & reliable company to do the network assessment that my BP never did. We are located in Central Missouri, the nearest metros to us are Jefferson City and Columbia. The next nearest metro is Springfield.

Thanks, Dawn

We use Catalyst Telecom which is our distributor for Network Assessments.

Can these companies do this remotely? I see that they are both out East.

yes, you have the option of on-stie or remote. how many site do you have... how many ip phones you you have?

We have 4 locations, none of the phones are IP though, they are all digital. It is the system that is IP, and calls only drop if they originate at a specific spoke location and are transferred directly to another spoke. If they are transferred back to the hub site, and then transferred to a spoke they stay connected. I have only learned this recently, since abandoning everything my BP had to say and looking at the source of the drops rather than the destination.

a NA for that size is probably going to run you $3000- $5000, depending how in-depth you choose to get. if you dont go with Kevin's company feel free to shoot me an email and i might be able to work something out with you. gknight at csijax dot com

Sheesh, costly! I will have to look over all the options and talk ot iver with my boss. We are trying not to spend any money given the economy and the fact that we sell boats, not exaclty the durable good everyone is buying in a bad economy!

It looks like a site specific issue at this point though, so we would only really need to test between 2 locations.

gknight1, yes, all of them. 50% of all bandwidth is set aside for dscp ef & dscp af41, and the voice traffic ports on the switches have highest priority.

just curious, why not all 100%, voice should be the biggest priorty. you wont notice if an email gets delayed for 3 secs, but you will if a couple of words do.

Do you ever even see hits on the QOS policy? You should only see it when the network if busy.

gknight1, I guess I could do that, but we never use all our bandwidth anyway. I have started a new thread for the issue...

kwing112000, what do you mean by "hits"? If I look at the policy on the routers, this is what I see (taken from the router where dropped calls originate):

highway#sho policy-map int se0

Service-policy output: voipQos

Class-map: VoIP (match-all)
