I came to work for my company the same week my predecessor left and apparently had just commissioned a new 3300 Mitel base model system. No interactive queue, no intelligent queue, no IVR, basic, stock. With 5320 IP phones. I have since become familiar with basic programming of the system and it all makes sense, yet the complexity is daunting. I have read Technicians Manual as it pertains to MOH as well as all the posts in this forum for the 3300 system related to MOH and couldn't find relative info, so I am posting here.

What am I trying to accomplish you might be asking?
I have more than a nearly two dozen active queues with hold times ranging up to 20 minutes before voicemail picks up the call. I want to put a different message into the ears of people on hold in the different queues and be able to update them regularly with quick fixes / advice for items that they might be calling about.

I believe I read somewhere in the manual that I'm limited to 9 messages(??) on the base model configuration, and upon further expansion that number can be increased.

Where I would really appreciate some clarification is on what my options are for how many unique MOH messages can I have at the same time, and if necessary what would I need to do to accommodate more more messages (memory expansion, modules, etc).

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Conditions and Feature Interactions
Up to 65 sources of music can be connected to an expanded MXe, MXe Server or LX with 512 MB system (one for the system Music on Hold and up to 64 for tenant Music on Hold or ACD embedded music on hold).

Note: Although provisioned using the Tenants form, tenant Music on Hold does not require the implementation of a full tenanting solution. However, all tenants must have the same configuration as the landlord (tenant 1) with the exception of the MOH source.

Up to 17 sources of music can be connected to an LX or MX with 256 MB system or a base MXe (one for the system Music on Hold and up to 16 for tenant Music on Hold or ACD embedded music on hold).

Up to 9 sources of music can be connected to a CX, CXi, CX II, or CXi II system (one for the system Music on Hold and up to 8 for tenant Music on Hold or ACD embedded music on hold).

I take it that your 3300 Model is a CX, CXi, CX II, or CXi II system?

D'oh! I knew that might happen.[cyclops] Yes I read that and maybe it's just not making sense to me. I'll go back and re-read that section again.

I verified that we have a CXII with 512MB RAM.

I really appreciate what info you are providing me here.

It seems pretty clear to me.

CX-II has up to 9 Sources

You can't unless you change your controller hardware

You might also not want to say "MOH messages" There is MOH and then there are ACD queue messages typically played off a RAD ( record announcement device - i.e "please hold all our agents are busy". It sounds like what you are doing is using the embedded voicemail ports to create the RAD messages which play to people in the queue. If you need to expand the number of queue message you need more embedded voicemail ports or you can also setup external devices as RAD's.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Good point Loopylou, but keep in mind the duration of Rads are more limited

I have a customer who constantly needs to change the multiple messages in their MOH file with tipe and updates as well. We use audio software to splice/edit the multiple messages together into a single audio file. We've created several audio files for different events/product releases and just upload the file as needed. They have a single embedded MOH file that we overwrite.
