Need help getting this Merlin Legend System working...

I can' figure out what is wrong with this system...there is a couple problems...here is my setup

I have a 391c1 power unit, Merlin Legend R7 10.0 Cke3 processor, 008 mlx-U, 016 ETR, 800 gl-id, and i have merlin legend mail 007 MLM 2 port in the 4th slot...but it comes up as 008 OPT...and its not working obviously, I can set up all the extentions and the phones work. i have a mlx20 and spm 8.0...i can't get none of the phone lines to work/have a dial tone...It would be highly appreciated if I can get someone to help me with the situation I'm in...I've never messed with merlin legend phone systems. Just Avaya Partner...alot easier in my opinion...

First off, the MLM-007 does show up as an 008-OPT, that's normal.

I would you do a "BOARD RENUMBER" to "kick start" the system and see if that helps it to recognize all of it's parts.

I have done that numerous times. I have got it working...well the outside lines part...but for some reason none of the modules will work correctly on slot 3,4, and 5. they show up, but they will do nothing. so that is my big problem, i've got it figured out on how to get it working...in slot 0 1 and 2...do i just need to get a new cabinet? or do i have to set something else up?

In spm it does say that maintenance busy is on...how do i turn it off?

I am down to just one more thing though...how in the world do i setup the voice-mail and auto attendant??? I can't find anywhere on the internet how to do it? I would just like to know where i go to for the options and all the programming stuff and then I can figure it out.

Find the information for Merlin Mail Release 3, the MLM-007 is pretty much a clone of that product.

im just going to return the mlm 007 and get a voicemail system that support auto attendant.

i think there is something wrong with it, when i call the voicemail number it says, please wait while we transfer your call, and the hangs up

Have you done the basic programming to make the voicemail work?

Pick a calling group, typically 770

Set the Group Type to Integrated VMI

Set the Hunt Type to Linear

Put the extension ports in the group


I'd almost bet that you didn't set the group type, and thus the VM is not getting mode codes when you call it.

ok i got down to the f3- integ vmi but when i go to hit enter, it gives me the error sound and does nothing

lol i shouldn't have even tried this, i got the avaya partner system down pretty good figured that i could do this, this is alot more complex then the avaya partner, i just have to get the voicemail and autoattendent working and i'll be done lol not much luck on it though...

touch tone tommy i did everything you said but i couldnt get the integ vmi to switch, when i go call extension 34 it dials twice and says please hold while i transfer you to a operator and just repeats that, and when i call extension 770 it just dials, but has a weird tone at the end of it
