We have an NEC SV8100 with UM8000 Voicemail. I have admin access to the web interface of both and I'm trying to find the right spot to change the number of rings (or time) an extension will ring before it goes to voicemail.

Some of our extensions ring 4 times, some up to 10 times, yet I don't notice anything different in their configuration when I look in UM8000 setup.

There must be somewhere else to program this, but I can't seem to find it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

MB 24-02-03 = call forward delay time in seconds. You may have several timer classes set up for different phones. Look at MB 20-29. The default setting is 0 for the default timer class. If there is anything other than 0 there, then you have separate timer classes set up. MB 20-31 is where you can adjust the timers for different timer classes.

Thanks for the help Belevedere!

Everything in 20-29 are all 0's, so it sounds like all extensions should be going to VM on the same time delay, no?

The extension number that is giving me the problem is 127, and 127 is also setup as the Operator Extension in 20-17.... could that have something to do with it?

I really appreciate the help!

No, it should not have an effect. In 24-09, set the extension to call forward busy/no ans to voice mail for items 02/03/04/05, all conditions. You may be set for only internal or external calls.

Shoot. They were all set that way, for all conditions and 127 looks identical to other extensions that still go to VM after 4 rings (internal or external calls).

There's nothing in UM8000 Webpro that could override one of these settings? Or are there settings from the handset that could have been done to change this?

I keep looking for settings that are different on 127 than other extensions and I'm not finding anything.

Thanks again!

Maybe look at 93-03 and see if the call forwarding is different for 127. Maybe someone accidentally dialed a service code.

Are these direct calls to the extension, or are these calls that are transferred from the auto-attendant and then going to voicemail on a no answer?

Perform a download before looking at 93-03. That MB is a snapshot of the system and will not show live changes.
