Good Evening

I have two 1GB DDR Ram chips in my possession, marked NCP00044 on a gold label

Using the Everest Diagnostics package the chips tell me:

Module Size 1024 MB (1 rows, 4 banks)
Module Type Unbuffered
Memory Type DDR SDRAM
Memory Speed PC3200 (200 MHz)
Module Width 64 bit
Module Voltage SSTL 2.5
Error Detection Method None
Refresh Rate Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh

Memory Timings:
@ 200 MHz 3.0-4-4-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
@ 166 MHz 2.5-3-3-7 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
@ 133 MHz 2.0-3-3-6 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

However with a Mercury / Kobian KOB KT266A FDSX the chips register as 512MB ( other DDR chips register all thier capacity) and with a few other MBs tried they just generate nice 'bell codes' and the MBs fail to launch

Is there a clear list of compatible motherboards for these chips as all I have is a poor PDF from Hexon the manufacturers here:

So can anyone throw any light on the problem these chips are giving me as I would like to pick up a second hand or new MB that I can populate to 2GB using them ;)

The list of 100% compatible MBs would be a great thing to have!!!

**UPDATE**

Since I printed off the compatibility sheet for the NCP00044 1GB DDR RAM chip, I found the original PDF to be much better resolution and to assist anyone else I posted it here:

NCP said:

Batch no: NC0444
Module Capacity: 1GB
Speed: DDR PC3200 (NOT DDR2)
Configuration: 16 chips, 128Mx4
These high density chips are made mainly for some VIA and SIS chipsets motherboard. Intel chipsets motherboard and some of AMD CPU does not support such configuration. NCP have a series of main stream products that supports Intel and others chipsets.

From the hi-res PDF The Motherboard low down is between

ABIT-SA7
ASUS P4S333
ASUS P4S533
ASUS P4S533-MX
P4 TITAN GA-8SR533
MSI 655 Max-LS
MSI 648 Max (MS-6585)

Which one(s) to look for?
Which one(s) to avoid?

Over to the gurus now!!!
