Good Evening
I have two 1GB DDR Ram chips in my possession, marked NCP00044 on a gold label
Using the Everest Diagnostics package the chips tell me:
Module Size 1024 MB (1 rows, 4 banks)
Module Type Unbuffered
Memory Type DDR SDRAM
Memory Speed PC3200 (200 MHz)
Module Width 64 bit
Module Voltage SSTL 2.5
Error Detection Method None
Refresh Rate Reduced (7.8 us), Self-Refresh
Memory Timings:
@ 200 MHz 3.0-4-4-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
@ 166 MHz 2.5-3-3-7 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
@ 133 MHz 2.0-3-3-6 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)
However with a Mercury / Kobian KOB KT266A FDSX the chips register as 512MB ( other DDR chips register all thier capacity) and with a few other MBs tried they just generate nice 'bell codes' and the MBs fail to launch
Is there a clear list of compatible motherboards for these chips as all I have is a poor PDF from Hexon the manufacturers here:
So can anyone throw any light on the problem these chips are giving me as I would like to pick up a second hand or new MB that I can populate to 2GB using them
The list of 100% compatible MBs would be a great thing to have!!!
