I am a mitel certified tech on the mitel 5000, and work on the sx every now and then. My boss recently sold a hotel a new sx 200 icp ax. I installed all the cards, put the 4g flash card from mitel in the slot 2 bay, and tried booting it...it fails. In the manual it says that all the software is pre loaded, but this thing does nothing. I imagine its an easy question to those of you have installed these guys before.

oh my...trying to set this guy up to allow outgoing calls is a chore! It appears to be working though.

I did not set option 277 in the class of service for all my guest rooms. Is there an easier way to create all those mailboxes rather than one at a time?

Creating Vmail - Nope, Live and Learn. and yes it is frustratingly slow. So much so that I once wrote a script to do it for me. Don't use the script anymore so don't ask.

i am all ready up to 295... What a pain. I even tried doing a range program to change the cos on the exts, no help...Oh well...I think it may make it in tomorrow morning...I have a guy there putting in all the cables and cleaning up the room. Somehow he killed their console on their old NEC, so they are down now and not very happy...so tomorrow will be interesting.

when I call one numbers assigned to one of my IP phones, in cos 1, it rings three times, then tells me I am being transferred to the operator. Any idea why?

Hmm, how would a coverage path be set up in an SX200? If I wanted ext 100 to call fwd/no answer after 3 rings to extension 102, how would that be set up in a 200? In an Avaya system, this would be called a coverage path. Not sure what it's called in the Mitel world. Need the Rosetta stone of Telephony systems.

You have PMS enabled and the VM is set to be a Guest room.

By default, the VM's are checked out and will not take messages.

To manually change this you need a Front Desk Mailbox.

Yes, you now have to check in each and every mailbox. Here, have a box of tissues.

They are loop start trunks. The phone i am test8ng with is a office phone, and its mailbox type is extension. I have a co line key appearence on the phone, so a loop start trunk is assigned to each office phone. When i call the phone and its idle, the vm answers saying it is sending me to the attendant. If i call the number and the phones busy, it goes to the vm box like it should.

Are you using forwarding to VM or Form 19 routing?

Are the forwarding/routing destinations for Busy identical to those for no answer?

Yes, they are both set to 300. I thought it might bebecause the box wasnt setup, but that was not it.

Guessing that your voicemail ports do not have the correct COS and as such are not receiving the correct integration digits.

TIP: To determine how many VM ports can be programme on a system
From the maintenance Side
report
Show
Status
VM Ports

This will then show you the current status of all ports that are available for activation based upon the current resources running in the system.

Do not exceed this value as the other ports will not function.

Additionally, if using VM ports for recorded announcemants, do not used the first or last ports as these have other fixed functionality.

I have a 24 port system. If I call the phone and its busy, i go right to the vm box, if I call the phone and its idle, it rings the phone three times, then goes to the attendant, literally answers and says its transferring me to the attentant.

Are the following options in form 19 set to your voicemail hunt group pilot?
-Call Forward Busy Number For This Tenant
-Call Forward No Answer Number For This Tenant
-Voicemail Number For This Tenant
-CO Line Routing Points On No Answer

I cannot remotely get into the system, sorry. I set the router to forward port 80 to my system for the web browser...I can log in, but it wont connect to the cde forms. I will have to update you all when I get onsite.
