Guys,

I recently had to rebuild MSL on MXe Server's APC which I had not done before. It was not that easy if compared to rebuilding software on the ICP, ISS or virtual machines, luckyly an engineer from Mitel UK was able to help over the phone.

The question is: Why do so many IP addresses are needed and what is it each one for?

Any doccument available on MOL where I can find the answer to this?

Regards,

Daniel

The online course document explains how and why these IP addresses are used and needed. It is very similar to ISS and MiCD instances. The tricky part is the fact that this solution still uses the MXe hardware for E2T recourses.

MXe Server being discontinued in favour of MCD on ISS. Guess they felt no point in supplying the MXe as a server given the hardware didn't do much else.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

It's in the THB

Table 1: Default IP Addresses for the MXe Server[tt]
ESM Name Default IP Address/ Subnet Mask
Virtual subnet 192.168.1.4/30
System IP Address 192.168.1.5/30
Reserved IP Address 192.168.1.6/30
Virtual broadcast 192.168.1.7/30
APC IP Address 192.168.1.8/24
Media Gateway IP Address 192.168.1.2/24
E2T Card IP Address 192.168.1.3/24
Layer 2 (L2) Switch IP Address 192.168.1.1/24[/tt]
