For some reason the manual backup process has stopped / frozen.
You can start the process and the wee pop up window appears as usual, but never get to the point to say backup was completed successfully, it just sits there for ever.

No error messages, nothing.

Any ideas to rectify? Reboot or back end command to kill.

I've seen 3 reasons for this to hapen.
1. there was a problem on the 3300 regarding the directory structure, this can be seen when a connection to the maintenance port is active while backup is started and run.
2. something was stuck and a reboot resolved this.
3. local firewall on the PC, the 3300 will have a log saying that it was unable to transfer the file.

Thanks DoubleUT

1st time I have encountered the problem

Definitely not a FW issue. Have performed many succesful backups on controller locally and remotely to different devices.

Haven't attached to maint port sinirst build.

or the backup is too big for your internet explorer timeout, There is a registry fix file on MOL for download.

Thanks for suggestion, good point.

Had applied the registry patch many moons back, so definitely not the cause on this occassion.

have you updated your java lately? Have seen some issues with loads of java that have caused problems with backups.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Hi,
You Can try to delete the following files in /db/database/files by ftp then reboot and retry. The file re-generate on a reboot.

dsttrnlog.db
distpayl.db
dstupdat.db

Normally i use the filezilla.
