Partner ACS: Using SLS in a small call center. Several of the agent stations are being digital voice logged by a DLI Logger
The problem is when a messages is being left for a station user the MW light indicator is being activated. Because we are using SLS the station user has to check for messages every so often. This in turn is causing a clicking sound on the line. The station and end user can not hear it however the voice logger is picking it up.

I have wired eash SLS with only 1 pair ( 2 wires ).

This is creating a contiuous file being logged by the logger. Basically the call never ends cause the logger is VOX and it keeps hearing noise which it thinks is a conversation. Thus the logged file never closes and it is using up all the disk space on the loggin computer.

First question is how come the voice logger can hear the clicking and not the station user?

Second what can I do about it?

You can hear the MW click yourself with a butt set in monitor mode. So does the voice logger. Once you go off hook, you won't be hearing the polarity reversal.

Upgrade to Partner Messaging, and set the S/L extensions' mailboxes to "without a phone" in phone status. Then the VM won't bother to set MWI. (It also won't bother to transfer to the extensions from the Auto Attendant, but I don't imagine that would be a problem with your call center agents.)

THis is an outbound call center and the senior agents are on ly ones who have voice mail.

What do you mean by "upgrade".

Well, Partner Messaging would be an "upgrade" from Partner Mail VS.

That being said, why are the MW lights on for your ourgoing agents who don't have Voice Mail? Did you delete all unused mailboxes, so that calls don't end up in boxes that no one is checking?

Use Feature-10-XX to manually turn off the MW lights, but for any multiline sets with mailboxes that you need to record, you'll need to look for sensitivity settings oj the recorder.

Two of the agents are also managers/supervisors "lead agents" they are also using GN Netcom's new SLS with headset. Since htey are managers they need VM for their incoming calls. The rest of the agents do not get incomming calls.

These supervisors check every so often to see if they have any messages waiting. So that is were the problem is. SLS that do need VM on them thus the click on their SLS sets.

What is invloved with an upgrade? Software or hardware?

The upgrade is a hardware change.

It involves physically changing out the Partner Mail VS module with a Partner Messaging module.

After that, you would change the ports assigned to group 7 and then set up the rest of the options in the new voicemail system.
