Music key on 6940 on MiVB 9.0 SP2

Anyone know if its possible to change the MOH source that plays when using the Music key on 6940? I see that its linked to the Call Coverage Service of the DN.
Any way to set it up so it will play the data from another call coverage service when using the Music button?

You should never play Music at all on an IP phone as every instance of someone doing so uses an E2T resource

Background Music from an externally connected source, such as a radio, consumes a single E2T channel for every extension listening to the source. Take this into account when assigning access to the feature as overusing it may result in call blocking due to insufficient E2T channels. See the MiVoice Business Engineering Guidelines for more information.

I understand that it would take resources on a CXII controller or similar, but on virtual MiVB (or EX) there are no E2T resources - was my understanding. So technically this wouldn't come in to play?

My understanding is that the Virtual MiVB emulates an E2T as well, so same thing applies. You will be consuming resources that may be required for communication tasks.
I think if it's one or two users playing MOH that won't affect the system's performance much. Careful if all users have this feature enable.

The short answer to your question is No.
In longer form, the are no options when configuring a Music key, that is used to activate the 'Background music' feature.
Ergo, it will play whatever audio source is configured for the Music On Hold feature.
The resulting summary is that you must change the MOH source in order to change the Background Music source.

As to resource usage:
All audio streaming use resources over the distribution network and at both endpoints.
This is true to any type of transmission, even radio.

I think background music uses the default source, tenant could have a different value for MOH and still play music from what I know. not that it is a good idea regardless.
