MTBF on Avaya IP 500 V2 control unit with R220 XL IP office server

I have seen responses on the thread above refer to the mtbf calculator on the Avaya knowledgebase. I tried this solution but it does not give me an option to add a server. I need a reference document or a link where I can calculate or get this information. I have seen advises on this forum where a general expected time of operation is given, this will not assist me, I need to be able to produce evidence of the information to a client of mine.

If you talk to your channel manager from Avaya he/she will gladly get you all the info you need to beat competitors.
That is more a sales thing that is why I am not really involved in that.

Aren't you better off asking Dell about the server?

I guess the main point of failure would be the hard drives. I'm not sure which drives they use but Western Digital mention

We no longer measure the reliability of our hard drives using Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF). Our current drive reliability is measured using Component Design Life (CDL) and Annualized Failure Rate (AFR). The Component Design Life of the drive is 5 years and the Annualized Failure Rate is less than 0.8%.


Any MBTF figures do need careful interpretation.
