I recently re-installed my WIN-98 SE on my AMD Desktop Computer and now
1. MS-DOS Prompt does not work:
Screen says:
“MS-DOS Prompt”
“There is not enough memory available to run this
program. Quit one or more
programs, and then try again”
I have the command.com file on two places:
- C:\command.com and
- C:\Windows\Command.com
I have the same set-up on my old 586 computer, and
there the C: prompt works.
2. Work-around an the AMD Computer::
go to Start – Shutdown – Restart in MS-DOS mode.
Only then the C:\Command prompt works.
3. This is not the solution ; I need to be able to
access the C: prompt from Windows.
What shall I do ?
Thank you for your help.
Charles
