Hello,

After a long day of trying everything I could (including trying out the 4DOS command shell), I am at a loss. I would simply like to do the following to my MS-DOS command prompt in Windows 98:

- increase the buffer size so I can look back at lines that have scrolled off the screen (the bigger the better)

- increase the screen width and height (width is most important, and I need at least 100 characters wide)

If anyone can point me in a good direction, I'd be forever grateful!

The number of characters per line under MS-DOS is set by the “mode” command, as far as I know the only valid values are 40 and 80. The syntax is:

MODE CON[:] [COLS=c] [LINES=n]

e.g mode con cols=80

You may need the “ansi.sys” and/or “display.sys” loaded for the mode commands to work I can't remember off hand.
