Just have started working with 3900 series phones and our dispatch center just ordered some 3905 phones with add on modules. We currently use 2616 with add on modules. I would like to know what all is needed to re-create the fuctionality of these 2616's to the new 3905 phones. I know many features such as transfer, confrence, etc are now soft key but wanted to know about all the other settings.

Thanks in Advance for any Help

Chris

You might medan 3904? the 3905 is an ACD set...but regardless, there is an excellent guide on the new sets in the NTP/SERL. I don't mean to brush you off to the books, but in this case then book is quite good. Use the bookmark panel on the left to get right to the 39XX series

Here is the PDF for ya -

3905 and 3904 are the same, except the 3905 uses a headset instead of a handset.

What I'm saying is you can use a 3905 for other than an ACD phone, it's not restricted to ACD.

Thats strange, I looked at your PDF and my 3904's look just like your 3905's and my 3904's look like your 3903's.

Speaking of those, I've been searching for a picture of an M3000 set with no luck. If anyone ever stumbles upon one I'd appreciate a link.

Not my original motive, but I am certain I can bring Ace to tears if I say I have one working on my desk. Danged if he has one now!!!

GHTROUT I'm sorry it's your time of the month again, your beening pretty dam snippy. It's not nice to insult people. If I'm wrong you don't need to point it out in a snippy way, you could just give your answer and leave it a that.

I, for one, appreciate ghtrout's sense of humor. Not only that - his posts are some of the most thoughtful and helpful ones in this forum. He doesn't usually get things wrong, but if he does he acknowledges it cheerfully.

GH - I take it you're looking for M3000 pictures other than the two color diagram from the old NTP. I could take a few shots of one here and send them if you want.

Ace!... are you leading into the fact you have a M3000! I want it! Dang you!!

Stanley, I have no good shots of the TouchPhone and would love a hi-rez scan or a photo.

Dang - you have one too!!!

Anyone have a sample print out of what the programming of their 3905 with Addon Module looks like.

I'd start this way: find am unused digital TN and LD11 REQ NEW TYPE 3905. Hit return at EVERY prompt, respond only to those that force you to. Don't even respond the KEY - just return past everything.

When done, print the TN to see what a natual default TN includes, and what KEY is the last one.

Then on that same TN - REQ CHG TYPE 3905 and hit return until you get to "KBA" and enter "1"

Return past every other prompt ans when done print that one out.

There you have the base difference between no added module and 1 added module.

Now refer to this:
That explains what keys are reserved and cannot be assigned....all other KEYs are a free-for-all - assign anything you want
