Hey guys!

I got a migration comming up here shortly that involves returing our currently leased servers for new ones. So, I'm looking into how I can move my current publisher and subscriber, BOTH, no new machines and still retain all my user /environment information.

I'm almost certain it's just a matter of copying the db's over, but i can't find anything on Cisco's web site about migrating. Does any know where I can find a white sheet on this, or if you've done this before, how'd ya pull it!??

Also, I have a Unity server that also needs to be moved to a new machine. Thanks for any help guys!!!

FYI: don't know if this is a huge deal, but when we move our stuff over, our new server will be CCM 4.0 instead of our current 3.3(3) --- thanks again!

hmm.. no Unity freezes as of yet. Although, this event is being logged like every five minutes. Doesn't seem to be a huge problem but I'm having trouble finding it's source:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: AvCs_MC
Event Category: None
Event ID: 101
Date: 2/23/2005
Time: 8:21:04 AM
User: N/A
Computer: UNITY
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 101 ) in Source ( AvCs_MC ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: (dwPacketSizeAsMarked == (sizeof(StationSetRingerMessage32) - sizeof(UINT64))) || (dwPacketSizeAsMarked == (sizeof(StationSetRingerMessage33) - sizeof(UINT64))), e:\views\cs_skinny7.0.1.5\un_Applications\Skinny\AvSkinnyTsp\Skinny.cpp, 616.

What version of Unity are you running? We're on 4.0(2) w/Exchange 2000

We're running 4.0.4SR1 with E2K off-box, plus a slew of engineering specials on Unity...I highly recommend Unity 4.0.3 - I never had to go into that box unless I had to do maintenance, that's how stable that version was. The AvSkinnyTSP in that error message tells me it might have something to do with the TSP on Unity.

What is the TSP version you are running, do you know off-hand? You may want to upgrade the TSP to 7.0.4b, which is the latest version (you can download it from CCO). I guarantee that if you contact TAC about this, that's the first thing they'll tell you to do. You can check you TSP version if you go Tools Depot and, under the Reporting Tools, run Gather Unity Info. A few lines down you'll see the Cisco Unity TSP version. It's important to find out what version you're running first. And to upgrade the TSP, it takes all of 30 seconds and a reboot.

Before you do that, though, did you set up the integration between CCM 4.1.2 and Unity via the hunt group...? That might be an easier thing to check...

Or, right after I hit the submit button on that last post...you know, that SetRingerMessage32 may have to do with the MWI lamps...I have limited experience with reading Unity's "secret code," but that combined with the AvSkinnyTSP makes me think that it may be an MWI issue. How many ports do you have set to dial out MWI? Are the ports designated to dial out MWI set to only do that (they should be, otherwise problems ensue)? That's an easy thing to check...

I would check that first (potential easy fix), then I would check the CCM/Unity integration...then, upgrade the TSP to 7.0.4b if nothing turns up...

ok, our tsp is currently at 7.0.2.0 pretty old huh? i've got the update for 7.4b right here, I'll do that here soon.

I'm not sure what you mean by "are the ports designated to dial out MWI" what ports are you talking about exactly?

When I did my Unity integration, I just did the simple New Integration from the manager on unity...don't remember anyting about hunt groups though?!!

Ohhhhhh okay...you're getting voicemail okay, though? Wow, if you haven't set up the integration on the CCM side, I'm pretty amazed it's working.

First, go into Unity, open up the Tools Depot, and under Switch Integration Tools, run the Telephone Integration Manager (UTIM). Expand where it says Cisco CallManager, and click on the "<nameofcluster>-Cluster." Go to the Ports tab, and see if any of the ports are set to dial out MWI (usually the last few ports; we have 32, and I have the last two set to just dial out MWI). Dedicate at least two ports do just dial out MWI, and make sure they aren't set to answer calls.

You most definitely have to set up the CCM side of the integration. This can get pretty involved, and you'll need to create new partitions and calling search spaces. You actually need to set up two hunt groups - one for the voicemail ports that answer calls, and one for the ports that light the MWI (the lamps).

I can email you the basic procedure if you want (I worked up a simplification of the integration guide Cisco puts out). Here's the link to their official documenatation again:

Let me know if you want me to email you the simplified procedure.

yeah..our current integration is working just fine. Remember I restored all of our info to Unity and the CCM's, looks identical to what it did before the upgrade. Maybe I didn't have to do the integration on the ccm cause of the restore...???

but i'll look into this. feel free to email me your version...i trust you more than cisco

The CCM restore will, if I remember correctly, attempt to create the hunt groups automatically...I'll bet you a dollar they've lumped *all* your voicemail ports into one line/hunt group; if that's the case, you'll need to separate your MWI ports out from your answer ports. That also could be causing that message.

Also, make sure that the Distribution Algorithm on the Answering Port hunt group is Top Down...

Ok, i'm confused now follwing Cisco's document...I guess i'm just stuck at the point of the Hunt List/Mail Pilot/and First Mail Port #

can you mail your directions to me?? Something just isn't right here and it's buggin me..

I emailed them to you yesterday...I understand your confusion, you can get lost very quickly in their documentation.

Let me know if you didn't get them, and I'll send them to you again...
