Hi, i have a form with a child editable subform, which has two fields. If i write in one field and before filling in the second field i try to focus a field in the parent form or browse through the parent form records, it's not possible until i complete the record filling in the subform.

Is there any way of going around this subform 'fixed focusing'?

Thanks.

Do you get some error message like "Primary Key cannot be blank" or something like that?

GingerR thanks.

Yes, because both fields are required. But i have tested turning the required property off and the focus stays anyway.

The only way I see that this could happen is if the fields are the Primary Key, or are set to Required, or if you have written code which specifically prohibits you from moving out of the subform. What are the Master/Child links? Both fields?

I've made a zillion Forms/Subforms and I can certainly leave the subform and go wherever I want, so it has to be in your properties some place.

Try making a new child table with only one field being a primary key (that is child to the other table) and no other settings and make a new main form and new subform and see how it works.

Those post wasn't for here.

GingerR thanks. I have made a new subform based in the same table, and checked that it's not a subform code problem, but the focus can be moved away changing the required property.
