Have an ip office (69) revision trying to have external MOH with the same music source playing to an amplifier for background music over their paging speakers. I have my MOH cable tapped into the feed cable(with a mono plug)that goes to the amp(a rca plug). Whenever I plug into the ksu it messes with the amps volume & no way of adjusting. Also as soon as I plug it in & I have my buttset on the output of the amp my buttset starts to ring like their is higher voltage coming out of the ksu, which is causing the no adjustment of the volume on the amp. Does the ksu have to be a stereo plug? Should I try to split the inputs where the music source is? Has any one tried making an analog ext. be the MOH input? Also have they come up with a background music over the phone? I know *34 does, but it busys out the phone. Looking for something like the ACS systems & the feature 19 turns on & off music. Thanks

Are you REALLY plugging a 70 volt paging line directly into the music input of IP Office? I'm shocked that there has been no magic smoke released in regards to this configuration. PLEASE do yourself and your customer a favor and read the specs for that input. Quickly.

No I'm tapped into the music input cable that goes to the music input on the amp

Also, use a stereo lead it isn't a mono socket :)

For best results, use an audio distribution amp to "split" an audio source to two devices. Parallel will hose things up - much like you've experienced.

Thanks everyone installing the WMT1A: worked great. Now does anyone know the answer to my other question? Playing the background music over the phone other then the *34 where that busys out the phone. Want something like the partner ACS (feature 19) Thanks again

You can't do that, even *34 will disconnect you after a minute, there is no way to listen to music constantly, not really the job of the PABX anyway :)

Yeah, you would just have to pipe the music over indoor speakers. Phones won't do it, not naturally anyhow.
