we have a option 81 at our site and we just installed a opt.11 tied into it,the problem is i(we)can't get a modem to work,we've tried replacing it,we have configured ok,anybody can assist we appreciate it.

Wrong forum. This is for IP Office. There is a CS1000 forum that will serve you better.

But, since you're here, if you're coming off a QSDI card/paddleboard, make sure you have a NT8D93 cable connected, set the port as DTE, then connect the modem to the DB25 end of the cable. You might have to do some config on the modem depending on the model. If you're connecting right to a core TTY port you can use a straight DB25 cable. I don't remember if you connect to J21 or J25 on the backplane for a core modem at this moment though. I think its J21.

Sorry for boring the Avaya folks with this info. :)

Shoot. Just re-read this. I think you want the modem on the Option 11, not the 81. You should be able to plug TTY port 0 from the SSC into the modem, then program the modem for whatever baud rate the SSC dip switch is set for. If you're using port 1 or 2, make sure you built the TTY and enabled it.
