Attempting to enable the inputted maids status *94 and status 1-8 to be outputted through SMDR call accounting. This is a work around for a PMS system.
Presently running into a problem enabling internal smdr reporting and not sure if I am going about this the correct way.
To make it short, I would like to see any digits entered from a hotel extension, (copper analog) at the smdr port. This will allow other software to interpret the feature code and status.
Any configuration help greatly appreciated.

I am not positive. Usually I work with the 200 in the Hotel environment and they are definitely separate on the 200. The interfaces are almost identical except for the streaming ports. I'll see if I can answer this question definitively. Stay tuned

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

As it turns out, there are sent to the PMS port

What this means is that they are already getting the info they need, they just have to configure their system to read it.

@Bobcheese - I said I'd look for an opportunity to even the score, but didn't think it would be in the same thread.

kindly accepted.

Back to the post, the issue the OP will face is the PMS port is a bi-directional link not just a printer port. If there is no two way handshaking there is no data passed.......

Gentlemen, I want to thank all of you as this issue is now resolved and I can go and have a Martini.
The maids data does appear on the bidirectional PMS port 15374, after monitoring the Ipocket with serial monitoring software and testing from room phones we identified the data and made a small adjustment to the PMS program and all is good.
Thanks again, I will probably be back on the issue of the message lights and or audible notifications of message waiting however for now, this thread is closed.

@gadgets906 glad you are sorted

However, I took it from your original post that you did not have a full pms system as you stated 'work around for a pms system' if you had stated that your software was capable of interfacing via a PMS link then this would have been the recommendation approx 40 posts ago :)

Well I've been assuming there was a PMS system all along and the work around was simply to get it working somehow

Also port 15373 is not port 15374 so that led me down a false path

Most of this is chalked up to communication errors

At the end of the day though, I learned something so it's all good

The software vender did not communicate that they had rewritten their software to read maids data and even their tech who I worked with wasn’t aware until serial monitor testing provided a visual of the data. To complicate matters their programmers placed a time delay on the updating of the room status which we both unaware of during testing, so our pms test may not have allotted enough time to see the updates. (big waste of time)
I apologize for the amount of misinformation and typos, and Kwb, you are right about 15373 is not port 15374, again my apologies.
As you quite correctly said, “at the end of the day I learned something”
Thanks bobcheese and KwbMitel, you have both been invaluable throughout the process, and your participation in this forum is invaluable to people like me.
Have a great weekend!
