Mitel 5000 upgrade

Good morning All, looking for a bit of advice. I want to upgrade a 5000HX controller from 5.1 SP2 to SP4. Can I skip the SP3?
I believe the upgrade is nothing more than copying the SP4 software onto a USB stick and using the AWS to upload the file, is that correct?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Yes you can skip SP3. You can upgrade via the USB or tftp from your pc. Web into the HX with the support account creds to access the upgrade option. I've seen some of the recent SP upgrades take multiple steps, so you may have to "Upgrade Now" more than once. If this is the case it only upgrades the core so fast it looks like it didn't do anything for the first round. Then it reboots and the LCD shows the new version, but when you web in you see new packages still available. Click "Upgrade Now" again and it will finish the remaining packages and reboot again.

I alway recommend a full backup including VM on a USB before upgrading just in case.

I did the same upgrade myself last week. Its very quick as only about 9 packages are upgraded. no need for SP3 as this was only introduced for Australia, it was skipped in other markets.

be careful as 5.1.0.50 was pulled back as of a few days ago. make sure you didnt get that version.

5.1.0.49 should be the latest as of today
