can anyone help with setting up a quad bri to replace a t1 module on a downsized system

You firstly need to de program all associated programming of the T1 including ARS routes, trunks, trunk groups etc.
then de-assign the card
power off the system
replace the card with the BRI card
assign the new BRI card
create an ISDN protocol
program the ports
create the trunks
create a trunk group
create ARS routes
assign ARS to the routes

Supernova,

Thanks for that BRI now working inbound and out.

I have one other problem though with voice-mail, If I forward an extension to VM it works as expected i.e. handset does not ring and VM box answers, after appropriate delay message indicator and lcd display indicates message waiting, however pressing message button produces "out of service". This occurs whether or not station is logged into voicemail.

any pointers to what I should be checking ?

Have you programmed any of the voicemail ports as RAD's?
If so make sure no of them are the last ports
The voicemail uses the last 3 ports for MWI

they are probably not in the voicemail hunt group
