I just installed a 3300 & trying to interface Call Accounting & PBX to Choice PMS system. Should I use a 5550 Console ?

Does the Choice PMS interfaces over TCP or Serial RS232? If Serial is needed get you a terminal server from Patton and convert from TCP to 232. Very sraight forward.

Let me know if more info needed. Regards,
Daniel

We use an iPocket IP to RS232 device if the PMS is unable to communicate with the 3300 via IP.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

I do have the TCP to Serial in place, I'm new to the 3300 & can't find the necessary programs to make it work. I'm used to utilizing the 1103 data sets via DNIC ports. Thanks for your help!!!

The 3300 does not support the Dataset 1103

The 5550 console cannot be used

Superconsole 1000's can be used but I would not recommend it.

IP-Serial converters such as those already mentioned are the way to go.

Any program that you used previously to test and install PMS on the SX-200 will work thru the Serial converters (Interfaces are identical)

BTW - The 5550 can be used, I think I got it backwards before, that's what I get for posting before looking things up.
