Hey Guys,

Thanks for your help ahead of time. I have been having a problem with my 3300 system. We went and put in a couple of new switches and now the phone system seems to crash roughly every 45 min. Once it is rebooted it comes back up and has no problems. I have looked over the logs and into everything I think it could be and I can't see anything. Was wondering if someone with a fresh set of eyes could look over my log files. I thought maybe there was an IP conflict someplace and that was causing my issue but again no luck finding anything like that. I even tried to dump all the DHCP addresses thinking maybe a device had held one since the last reboot and then the system had sent out the same one. But again not luck.

Thanks again and I look forward to sharing my pain with you!

Hi,

I have had a quick look at the logs and it keeps showing an error with PSU 1. Shortly after abnormal reset power on reset. I would investigate PSU 1. Maybe try with just PSU 2 for now and if that stops the resets get a new one ordered. When the system is up are there alarms/logs showing a failed power supply?

Regards

Try moving 1 of the PSU's to another power source. 1 PSU is enough to keep system running. Check UPS.

UPDATE:
So I thought I would update this thread as there is nothing worse then finding exactly what your problem is on a form and then there being no solution posted.

It was nothing to do with the power supplies on the unit as you could run a phone directly from the front of the controller with no problems. Once the controller was hooked up to a switch with nothing else on it the phones would stay connected for around 18 minutes and then lose connection. We checked VLANS, port configurations, even hard coding the VLAN into a phone. Nothing seemed to solve the issue. The only possibility that I can think of that could cause this problem would be a faulty NIC card or a short in the board someplace.

The final solution that has solved the problem is that with the help of my new awesome vendor we took a backup from our old server and uploaded it onto a completely new box. This new device has now been running in our environment for 4 days with no issues at all. We also had him upgrade our software version while he was here. It was a long and very very painful process in trouble shooting as buying a new phone system is not always an option for most companies lucky for us ours was about 10 years old with some hardware upgrades but it was about time to invest in a new controller box. If anyone would like further information or runs into this problem again please PM me and I will be happy to share any and all trouble shooting steps I took and even a great vendor to work with in Alberta.

Thank you
