Voicemail quit working. It appears that somehow the system defaulted and changed form 4 digit extensions to 3 digit extensions. RAD's are still there and working. Dialing the hunt group, the voicemail answers, but expects 3 digit mailbox numbers. GUI shows two mailboxes, 0 and 999.

At this point, I assume we will have to use the admin mailbox to change to 4 digit mailboxes, like a fresh start.

Will RAD's be gone? I can't imagine that voicemail box greetings and messages will be recovered.

Any idea how this happened? Should we be worried it will happen again?

I believe VM digit length can be changed from ESM under VM options, not necessarily from admin mailbox.
What version MiVB you running?

RAD is not tied to the ports, but to the RAD Set ID. Changing the vm digit length should not wipe RAD programming.
As long as the VM ports are mapped correctly to RAD Set ID , it should work.

I would check -

- check DISA programming (if its enabled)
- tighten access policy to access to ESM
- change admin VM passcode

The 3300 embedded vmail is very much like the sx200. On the sx200, there is an option in admin to initialize the voicemail. Maybe that's what happened here? Don't give admin password to users, give manager password.
