I connect the maintenance port to my computer to see what happens , and heres what i got

!!! HARDWARE RESET REQUEST FROM task StartupHwRst !!!

Three leds can't stop blinking means the system can't boot and reset all the time. Looks like a serious hard drive failure...

To me the hard drive's dead....even if it does not appear frequently xhen hard reset, I had it too in 3 years...

That's why back up are made for...HD have a limited life till it is mechanic...

Is your configuration complicated ?
Start with a brand new HD...

Why are you talking about your YA licences server ?
YA client can't managed if the ICP is down..don't worry about that.

Sorry for that

Now, it's about French users too !!!

Looks like im screwed ,bad luck follows me and only with mitel equipment jeje any way .....things happens hehehe......its any way to bring to live again my 3300 ?

I made reference on YA cause i dont know if they are files ,or serials or any kind of data on the hard disk that i couldnt recover and would be need in the reconfiguration of my 3300 ,........if they r simple papers ill look for them.......my configuration its not too much complicate the 3300 server only manages 6 YA users, i have another sx 200 that manages my trunks and phones.
I have some doubts about how to recover my server.....one of them is what i need? another is how can i boot the 3300 without a hd? third one is can any one facilitate me any docs about recover mitel servers?
Tanx again
and i wish u all a happy new year¡¡
best wishes for next year

Hi,

3300 won't start without HD !
Exactly I've never tried to boot from network as indicated below, but anyways your datas are on the dead HD !!

With a new HD, you need to start vxworks mode (press space bars when it is indicated )an use and ftp server which has the 3300 files so your 3300 will format and install a version on the new HD..

This is an example : (info between quotes, stars at the beginning to indicate what you need to verify)

*boot device : motfcc "to boot from network"
unit number : 0
processor number : 0
host name : bootHost
*file name : boot_install "name of the boot file to rebuilt your config on external ftp sever"
inet on ethernet (e) : 192.168.000.070:ffffff00
inet on backplane (b): 192.168.0.70
*host inet (h) : 192.168.0.80 "ftp server IP adress"
gateway inet (g) : 192.168.0.27
*user (u) : '.' "user ftp account"
*ftp password (pw) : '.' "passwd ftp account"
flags (f) : 0x0
other (o) : motfcc

Configure a ftp server on the network, where user will point to 3300 installations files.
When your 3300 will boot, il will search boot files in order to install the version on new HD.
To built your config, do you've a version on CD or thru MOL ?

After that you'll configure your 3300 with your data (that you could have backe-up !)

In your case, YA is not a trouble.
Maybe you've declared YA users (softphone's maybe) in 3300 but that's all.
If you run YA lite 3.0, there's no server licence in 3300. You just need to rebuilt your configuration to let YA user's work.

If you run YA lite or full, you have a specific windows server for licences...

In all cases you won't be able to rebuilt your 3300 configuration with YA server data...

Well, hope this will help...
Mistakes help to learn..

Happy new year....

Now, it's about French users too !!!

Do you have a Mitel Service Provider near you? Who did you buy the system from? I highly recommend that you engage certified Mitel services, especially if you do not have any backup files. The reason for this is that your problem is so much more than replacing the HD.

If the HD is not partitioned, there are commands to do that. Once you actually get the new HD working with new software, you will need to sync the system up with Mitel to download licences. You will not be able to do this without an Application Record ID. If you ask what that is, then you really have to contact your Mitel Provider. If you do all your own programming, that is fine, but I think you will have to get you service provider to at least get your system to the point where you can program confidently.

**************************************
My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.

Just get 40GB IDE HDD. Connect it to your favorite PC and use fdisk to create FAT32 partitions sized as you see in your log. Obtain your MOS sheet (you should keep the latest version whenever you change any licensed options). Run system installation (follow the simple instructions from software CD). Login to your system, apply licenses. Restore backup. You are back in business. Total time - 4 hours (max)

Hi there its been a while since I don’t post again to info about my problem , at the end I decided to call my provider , and reach an agreement with them ,I decided this because there’s a lot of info like installation cds ,serials ,license numbers and the must important backup that I don’t have at hand , plus that the 3300 it wasn’t of my propriety ,it was leave when they come to install all the mitel network because the seller offer the solution with YA clients over a SX200 with release 1.0 (a little forgotten detail) so they have to leave a 3300 to admin the YA soft phone clients.
So I told to my provider that I need a solution to this and the only ways I found is a release upgrade to my SX200 totally free or the invoice of the 3300 ,to start invest on it because other way I will not put any money on something that isn’t mine.
So now I have release 3.0 on my sx 200 and still waiting for the YA licenses and all this totally free ,the reality is that in Mexico mitel is still on pampers and there’s no too much attention on PyMes because on big contracts I bet they give faster solutions.
But like old proverb says from something bad comes something good ,and I have learn some things of this inherited problem.

first.. review all technology before implanting ,the seller can told u a lot of things it can do ,but when u are until the neck of problems they say ups so sorry I make a mistake.
second ..make good treats can solve a lot of problems in future.
Third one.. demand always the fair when u are right

Tanx to all and I hope your help be in further issues

UPS Soapbox Mode On:

The common mistake I see here is the concept of having an UPS to "keep it running". That's fine for momentary power glitches and even total power outages of just a few minutes, but with emphasis on "few" unless it is a large commercial unit. However, if the need is to stay up regardless of the outage duration, then some other form of standby power, such as a standby generator, is called for.

The proper concept of a UPS (adequately sized for a 3300) is to carry you over the momentary glitches while allowing sufficient time to perform a clean orderly shutdown when it's clearly more than a momentary glitch. I think by 30 minutes into the outage I would have had a tech on the way. Few if any consumer grade UPS systems (under the $500 price point) shut down "cleanly" when the battery dies and even fewer UPS owners bother to proactively replace their batteries every 3 years like the manufacturer suggests. Result is the UPS eventually gets taken for granted, forgotten about altogether and ultimately falls well short of expectations when we need it.

Unquestionably the hard disk is fried. However, a proper HD dismount (App shutdown) procedure (which has to be performed on site) before the UPS died, very likely would have saved you from this grief.

Just my opinion, but the current crop of local computer store/Sam's Club el-cheapo UPS' with Chinese batteries are a recipe for disaster.

UPS Soapbox Mode Off.

Hi slapin

On your remark about formating the disk drive FAT32 how do I go about doing that for the mx3300 hard drive?

Regards

Please don't do it if concept isn't clear for you. Contact your Mitel dealer. Besides that you will loose any kind of worranty when you mess with this kind of stuff.
