Hi I had to change the extension numbers on my 3300 from 800-899 to 1900-1999 now that I have done this DDI calls to my ISDN line have stopped working, I was setting up SIP between phone systems.

The sip is working fine but the change of extension ranges has caused the DDI's to stop working any ideas ?

Thanks.

It is probably in what you are receiving from the carrier. What are your range of DDI numbers? Usually there is a direct coloration between the DDI telephone number and the extension number. What you might have is that the last 3 digits of the DDI is 800-899. Therefore with your change the carrier sends you 800 via the ISDN and the system has no idea what this is for.

What you need to do is create system speed dials that can translate what you are getting from the carrier to your new numbering. i.e if the carrier was sending 800 then you need to create a speed dial 800 that dials 1900. If your DDI's don't line up with the digits of your extensions i.e 800-899 then your probably have a bunch of speed dial numbers already defined. You would need to go into the system speed dials and see if there are numbers xxx that dial 800-899. All you would have to do in that case is change the numbers from 800-899 to 1900 to 1999.

An example from over here. DID ( our name for DDI ) 604-555-1212. The carrier sends digits down the ISDN each time it is dialed. It can be 51212 or 1212 or 212 whatever is setup with the carrier. In this case if my extension number is 212 and the carrier sends 3 digits I have to do nothing. If my extension is 300 but the carrier sends 212 then I create a speed dial 212 that point to 300.

Clear as mud right.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Hi Yes you are right what had thrown me was the speed dial was set to 0 and then the reception number, guess 0 to call reception is normal!!

Adding in 801 - 1901 now works fine.

Thanks for your help.

dial 0 for reception is kind of a standard in North America as is dial 9 for an outside line.
